Check it out...Here's a very uncommon & unusual style matched set of 22 (Yes, TWENTY-TWO!) different items from the 1976 100th anniversary centennial celebration of Lapel, Indiana-There are 2 diff. 2 1/4" wide cello pins / buttons-One reads: "I'm an old Smoothie 1876-1976 lapel Centennial" and the other reads: "100 Years 1876-1976 Lapel,Indiana" (There is another Madison County pin and certificate from 1973 pictured but they ARE NOT included in the lot, they will be listed separately later), there are 2 of the tri-fold brochures from the event with the plans and schedule of events listed, an 8 1/2" x 11" descriptive photo sheet picturing the 3 historic homes on the event's home tour along with the original .25 ticket stub, There are 2 different 5"x 3" tickets to the official "Lapel Centennial Ball" at the high school gym, there are 5 copies of the official printed schedule of events for the June 19-28, 1976 celevbration with the events listed on both sides-LOTs of info on these!, One is an 8 1/2"x 11" six-paged photocopy of the order of the Lapel Centennial Parade-Tons of info, One is an 12" x 16" official 2 section newspaper copy of "The Lapel Review" with TONS of pictures and stories about the event inside (Including a great full page picture of the 1940 Lapel Bulldogs basketball team that made it all the way to the State Finals), there are 6 local newspaper clippings covering the event, and the last one is a 15" wide by 4" tall unused red & white bumper sticker that reads: "1876 Lapel Centennial 1976 June 19-26 1776 Bicentennial 1976" on the front-Has been folded for storage with some light wear, still a great colorful vintage 22 piece set! I try and place a penny in every photo to help judge the size of the item, obviously it is there for size comparison and is not included with the item. Many of the items are VINTAGE and although they are in very fine condition, they may not function as well as when they were made decades ago. So if you intend on using the old item, please be aware that we are selling it for collector value only. In other words, if you intend on using a 50+ year old letter opener and it breaks, don't get mad at us. It may be hard to believe, but we have received a couple negatives because people broke vintage items while trying to use them.
