    Description

Vintage Original Edwin M Knowles "Deanna Pattern" GREEN Lidded Tea / Coffee Pot.
Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
This is a vintage original Knowles green teapot (sometimes called coffeepot due to its tall shape.)
    Condition:
Being that this Knowles piece is
    "semi-vitreous”
(see factory stamp) the expansion and contraction of the clay body can create crazing of the glaze which has happened with this piece.
(Zoom in on photos to see)
. It has apparently been used during its lifetime and there’s a light coffee/tea “ring” inside the vessel. There are a few glaze imperfections and pinholes and the foot has a place
    (see photo)
where the glaze adhered to the kiln shelf and was sanded smooth afterward.
There are no cracks, no chips or breaks.
    History:
The Deanna shape was first made by Knowles in 1938 into the 1950s. Round shape with a narrow band of rings at the rim and on the handles and finals of the hollowware. Made in solid colors, terra tan body, hand-painted plaid treatments, and with decals. Deanna is usually marked with general Knowles backstamp.
Deanna is a solid color line with bright, as well as pastel colors, some with decals. The bright
colors were called, unofficially, "Festive". They consisted of: green, red, blue, and yellow. The pastels
were called, officially, "Caribbean". The colors were: Peach, Turquoise, Lemon Yellow, and Powder Blue.
