VTG EDWIN KNOWLES CHINA SEMI~VITREOUS 5 B&B PLATES 22 K GOLD TRIM FLORAL IVORY

This listing is for Edwin M. Knowles Semi~Vitreous China 5 ~ Bread & Butter Plates ~ 6 3/8" in diameter ~ in a pattern often called Wildflower, but upon intensive research, it was found that this pattern actually had no name.  It features a floral bouquet design with yellow, orange, & white flowers offset on ivory plates, a 22 karat gold trim on the rim, and with embossing next to that trim.  The pattern has been referred to as KNO88.  This pattern was also made without the gold rims and without the embossing, as well.  Knowles China originated in Chester, West Virginia,  and these plates circa 1942, now discontinued.
These plates are all signed on their undersides.  2 of the plates also have embossing on their undersides around the signage. They are free from any cracks or repairs.  They have some scraped marks on the undersides with one in particular that has what you could call scrape chips ~ very tiny but present.  There is no crazing.  The designs are intact and perfect.  There are some specks of gold flecked off the rims.  And there are paper thin utensil marks  ~ absolute minimal.  A beautiful hard to find, as well as rare, Edwin M. Knowles selection.
